FaktaId. The Commission for Eradicating Corruption (KPK) recorded the highest achievement in 2018. The anti-corruption institution carried out the most hand capture operations (OTT) since its establishment in 2002.

This was expressed by Deputy Chairperson of KPK, Saut Situmorang, at a press conference on 'Achievements and Performance of KPK in 2018', at the KPK Supporting Building, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday.

"The Corruption Eradication Commission has handled 28 cases that have been captured. The number of cases of arrest in 2018 has exceeded the previous year, and is the largest in the history of the KPK," said Saut Situmorang.

Of the 28 cases, he continued, the KPK had named 108 people as suspects with various profiles of suspects, ranging from legislative members, law enforcement officers, to regional heads.
"This number does not include suspects who are determined later from the results of case development," explained Saut Situmorang.

Regarding catching hands, he explained, sometimes the KPK only confiscated a small amount of bribes. However, when carried out development, not a few parties can then be held accountable.

"From the OTT, it is not uncommon to be the entrance to ensnare the alleged criminal acts of gratification and money laundering," he explained.

Some of the suspects included Yahya Fuad, Zumi Zola, Irwandy Yusuf, Pangonal Harahap, Zainudin Hasan, and Abdul Latif, who revealed that they had a number of very large assets, which were allegedly obtained from criminal acts of corruption, "said Saut Situmorang.

While in the Enforcement Coordination and Supervision activities, Saut Situmorang said that the KPK had also exceeded the predetermined targets.

The KPK has coordinated 310 cases, of 85 cases targeted in 2018. Meanwhile, supervision is carried out on 256 cases out of 200 targeted cases, "he explained.

"In this activity, the KPK seeks to encourage the handling of cases by other law enforcers, by bridging differences in perceptions and other obstacles through the title of joint cases, facilitating experts, including the calculation of state losses," added Saut Situmorang.
