KPK Choose to Work Quietly, Attack Case Baswedan Novel Doesn't Experience Progress

WartaJurnal. VICE Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Saut Situmorang admitted that this year there had been no significant progress in investigating cases of attacks on senior investigators of the Baswedan novel.

Saut Situmorang said that the investigation had not produced anything significant, even though the KPK had placed several people in the investigation team led by the National Police.

"The novel case is not yet finished, and the KPK team and the team from the National Police are still working to this day, although this year there has been no significant progress," Saut Situmorang said in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, Monday.

Saut Situmorang acknowledged that there had been no significant progress in investigating the case, giving rise to wild perceptions in the community.

However, he claimed the KPK did not want to respond to those perceptions to work quietly, in order to achieve significant progress.

"Indeed, the framing outside has not been clarified, such as whether the one called as a witness is not willing to be questioned. We just work quietly so there is not much noise, so the results are significant, "he explained.

The case of the attack on Novel Baswedan touched the number 600 days on 2 December 2018. Until the 600th day, the police had not yet determined a suspect.
